Authentic: The original of this very beautiful reconstruction once belonged to the dreaded Danish king Godfred (also called Gudfred or Gudrød). King Godfred lived until his death in 810 in Haithabu (near Schleswig), the most important Viking settlement in Jutland.
High quality: the sword dates back to the 8th century and has the typical shape of an early medieval Viking sword: a short and slightly forward curved guard rod, a double-edged and straight blade with chamfer, a wide knob with three bulges.
